It's Beginning to Sound A Lot Like Christmas
Actually, thank gawd, it's not... at least, not yet. Last year at this time we already had reports of holiday music streaming through grocery stores like Ralph's.
Thankfully, this year stores appear to be showing a little more restraint. For now. I hit the Miracle Mile Ralph's last night, and while indeed the holiday goodies were already on display, "Winter Wonderland" and its ilk weren't blaring over the loud speakers. (Ralph's mix of adult pop and ads proclaiming butternut squash, 2 for $1, was still playing.)
I'm no Scrooge, and when the timing's right (say, after Thanksgiving), a healthy dose of Christmas tunes gets me in the holiday spirit. But too much (and I feel for you, holiday workers) and you're done. Have your ears been assaulted with the first holiday tunes of the season yet? Tell us where, and when, below.
