Earlier this week, LAVoice.org's Mack Reed dropped a mini-bombshell: He was looking for someone to take over the website.
The good news for Mack: Business is good, and he's never been as busy with projects. The bad news: There's no time to focus his energies on LAVoice. He'll shut down the site in two weeks unless he can identify someone to take over the reins.
Mack writes:
So here's where you come in: I want to give LAVoice.org - the platform, the assets, the ongoing (if small) ad revenue and its dedicated, savvy and passionate audience - to the right blogger who can carry on what we've built.
Maybe that's you.
If you're interested in taking on a virtually non-paying, 12- to 15-hour-a-week job - for the chance to re-shape, grow and drive a well-respected, L.A.-centric community blog toward being something brilliant, edgy and cool, then maybe this gig is for you.
So far, Martini Republic's Joseph Mailander has offered to take over on a trial basis for three months; someone who calls himself "Charlie the Gay Gardener" also threw his hat into the ring. Mack is still accepting emails; no word yet on where LAVoice might end up.
