Just in case any of you "Jamie, Jack and Stench" fans (seriously, who are you??) were holding out hope that the recently fired trio would make their way back to Star 98.7 (KYSR-FM), here's one more sign it ain't happening: Their replacements have already been announced.
KIIS-FM's Sean Valentine, who held down the afternoon shift for eight years at the top 40 outlet, is moving to mornings on Star. (He already hosts a syndicated morning show for several Clear Channel stations across the country.) He'll be joined by longtime Star 98.7 jock Lisa Foxx, who used to be paired with Ryan Seacrest (until Seacrest took over for Rick Dees on KIIS in 2004) and more recently handled middays for the station.
Here's the press release:
Long-time 102.7 KIIS-FM afternoon drive host Sean Valentine will move over to sister station Star 98.7 to join station veteran Lisa Foxx in the morning drive slot (weekdays 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.) on that station.
Valentine spent the last 10 years at top-rated 102.7 KIIS-FM, including the last eight as host of the afternoon drive shift. He also hosts the syndicated morning radio show "Valentine in the Morning," heard in 15 cities including Cleveland and Cincinnati. Prior to Los Angeles, Valentine had top-rated shows in Boston and Dallas. He's also a regular at The World Famous Laugh Factory in Hollywood, and a dedicated USO entertainer for the past 8 years, traveling to Bosnia, Bahrain, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Turkey and the Persian Gulf to entertain US Armed Forces.
Foxx has been a mainstay on Star 98.7 going on 10 years, hosting virtually every timeslot. Lately she has been heard hosting the "All Request Workday" weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A California native, Lisa honed her on-air skills with gigs in San Jose and San Francisco before coming to Los Angeles.
Clear Channel Radio Market President Greg Ashlock comments, "Valentine is a proven performer with huge successes in morning and afternoon drive. Foxx is synonymous with the Star brand. We're convinced that the chemistry between the two of them will result in a very compelling and entertaining show."
Station GM Craig Rossi adds, "Much thanks to KIIS-FM's VP of Programming John Ivey and Clear Channel Radio Market President Greg Ashlock for making it possible for Val to follow his dream of L.A. mornings, and I'm thrilled to have Lisa Foxx making the move, too. It's one of those rare situations that feels so right you just know it's going to be a success."
"Boy Toy Jesse" Lozano, who hosts afternoon drive at San Diego's KHTS-FM, will take over for Valentine at KIIS.
