Rate-A-Restaurant, #129 in a series
Restaurant: Los Chavos Tacos
Location: 2501 W Victory Blvd # D, Burbank
Type of restaurant: Mexican
We stipulated: My friend/co-worker, Erin, and I were craving tacos plus, I'm on a quest to find decent food in Burbank. Mas tacos, por favor.
What they stipulated: Cash only.
What we ordered: "Especial," which is four mini tacos (2 carnitas, 2 pastor) and a can of soda ($4.60).
High point: The tacos were "you don't have to drive to Los Feliz for Yuca's" good.
Low point: The place is small with only about eight small tables and you might get caught up in "People's Court" that's blaring loudly from the t.v. on the wall. I suggest taking your food to go.
Overall impression: Don't let the "mini" part of the taco deter you; they were very tasty and the corn tortillas were perfectly grilled. You can choose from four different types of meat: carne asada, pastor, carnitas and pollo. Plus, for under $5, you get a really satisfying meal and a drink. The guy behind the counter is efficient, a jokester and has a ready smile that you'll want to keep coming back to to support this restaurant.
Chance we will go back:: If it's Thursday, chances are you will see me and Erin lined up there after volunteer hour.
