A few weeks ago, after the "Entourage" episode with a scene shot at Variety ran on HBO, LAist's Tony Pierce posted this letter:
Dear LAist,
Did you see Entourage last night? When Drama drove to Variety to beat the ass of the TV critic Paul Schneider, was that really Michael Schneider who also is a critic at Variety, appears on E!, and runs the Franklin Avenue blog?
Nancy, North Hollywood
Tony answered by pointing to this post of mine, explaining that the Variety critic named Paul Schneider is actually based on real-life Variety TV critic Brian Lowry... and the character is named after the real-life college roommate of "Entourage" exec producer Doug Ellin.
Still, I do have a brief claim to fame in that episode. And I mean brief. Check out the screen grab above. Yup, that's the top of my head, right underneath Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon) as he rushes to find the fictional "Paul Schneider." (All morning, I kept turning around as Dillon screamed "SCHNEIDER!" across the office.)
With an "Entourage" to its name, my head is now available for representation.
