Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed... Something on VHS

Back when Maria and I were planning our wedding two years ago, I briefly tried to convince her that we should apply to be on TLC's "A Wedding Story." We hadn't budgeted a videographer, and I figured that would be a way to get a beautifully shot and edited wedding video.

But Maria wasn't a fan of that idea -- and despite my media whore-like tendencies (catch me on E!'s "True Hollywood Story: 'The Apprentice'" this October!)-- I dropped the subject. Let's face it -- the hey-we-didn't-get-that-shot-can-you-pretend-to-do-it-all-over-again nature of the shoot would have probably been too intrusive anyway.

But hey, engaged Los Angelenos, don't let that stop you from trying it! Want to whore out your wedding for a shot at getting on national TV? (OK, national basic cable)? Read on, in this latest installment of Press Releases That Cross My Desk:

NORTHSOUTH PRODUCTIONS OPENS SEARCH FOR LOS ANGELES AREA COUPLES TO APPEAR ON TLC'S "A WEDDING STORY"

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 13, 2004) - TLC's "A Wedding Story" is looking for Los Angeles area couples with wedding ceremony dates from September 2004 to January 2005 to share the most special day of their lives with millions of TLC Daytime viewers around the country.

Part of TLC's popular daytime line-up, A WEDDING STORY follows starry-eyed brides and nervous grooms as they prepare for one of the most important days of their lives. The love story unfolds as the about-to-be-marrieds recount how they first met, the moment they knew they were in love and the romantic details of their proposal. Next, viewers get to see how a marriage is made, from humorous and warm reflections from family, friends and the wedding party to the sometimes tense behind-the scenes scramble as the couple prepares for the walk down the aisle. After all of the goose bumps and anticipation, the series reaches an emotional climax with the sentimental arrival at the altar. Along the way, TLC cameras are there to catch every personal moment.

Couples must be willing and available to schedule sit-down interviews, provide access to pre-wedding events, and full access to all wedding day events. If you are a couple with a unique wedding story to tell - and the ability to tell it -- apply online at www.northsouth.tv or e-mail inquiries to weddings@northsouth.tv.
