Franklin Avenue: The Band

I finally decided today to get hip to what the kiddies are doing and sign Franklin Avenue up for a MySpace page. Better do it before someone else claims the "Franklin Avenue" name, right?

Too late. I'd been beaten to the punch -- just two months ago, someone else registered the name www,myspace.com/franklinavenue. But who? I checked it out.

Turns out there's a local band that has named itself Franklin Avenue. (Check out their official website here.)

What's more, their album cover includes an image familiar to anyone who's ever read this here Franklin Avenue blog:



Hmm, is it coincidence that the street sign on their cover is the exact same one we use in our logo, down to the exact angle? Given the sheer number of Franklin Avenue signs out there, could it be a coincidence that the image we use just so happens to be the same one they do?

But hey, beyond that, I'm cool with the idea of a band called "Franklin Avenue." (Well, except for the fact that they grabbed the MySpace page first -- but we settled for www.myspace.com/franklin_avenue, which is still a pretty good address.) Maybe they'll become our house band here at Franklin Avenue.
